Tina S. Porter, Chair for the 34th annual Los Padres Artist Guild Christmas show, has announced the schedule for the featured artists who will be demonstrating at this Thanksgiving Weekend Show. The featured artists are the "SILKEE LADIES". It is mesmerizing to watch a silk painter at "play". As the dyes flow over the silk, the colors and designs are vibrant and soothing. The result is breathtaking! This is when it is fun to watch paint dry. The "SILKEE LADIES" paint together often, but usually in private studios. This is their first appearance in one event.


The Show will be this Thanksgiving Weekend at the Abel Maldonado Community Youth Center.
The Center is located at 600 S. McClelland in Santa Maria. Artists will be offering jewelry, birdhouses, wearable art, home crafts and decor items, ceramics, pottery, porcelian, wood working products, silk scarves, & Christmas ornaments, in addition to Fine Arts. All of the artisans are local and all items are original and unique.
The hours for the show are Friday night, November 26 from 5 PM to 9PM, Saturday, November 27, from 9AM to 6PM and Sunday from 10AM to 4PM.
 
The "LADIES" love to demonstrate the unique art form of silk painting. Please come to the Show and celebrate the "Kick off" of the Season, shop and enjoy the diverse artistry of each of our ""SILKEE LADIES". Feel free to ask questions and visit.
The schedule is as follows:


SATURDAY:
9AM to 11AM   Barbara Alloway  "Abstracts in silk"
11AM to 1PM   Esther Serna Bartlette  "Elegance on Silk"
1PM to 4PM     Jill Targer  "Silk Painting Jill's Way"
4PM to 6PM     Claudia Wagemann "Diversity and Texture on Silk"


SUNDAY
11:30AM to 1:30 PM  Tina S. Porter  "Wearable Art & Imagination on Silk" (or guest Artist,)
1:30 to 4                       Stephany Andrews  "Chinese Brush artist / Creativity on Silk"
 
Jill Targer will be starting her Allan Hancock Class in January. The class  title is "SILK PAINTING"  and is wildly popular.
The artists will also have items available for sale in Fine Arts and will have displays at the event.
